What is coaching?

There is so much confusion and challenges in the day-to-day life of a loan professional.   A coach is able to provide constant encouragement and re-enforcement that both motivates and stimulates you to keep reaching, keep growing, and keep improving. What you get is pointed and personally tailored guidance. A coach can help you to concentrate your attention on the things you really want. A coach doesn’t carry the ball for you; the coach shows you how to hold the ball and which hand to carry the ball in and together we can cross the GOAL line.

Why should I consider coaching?

Sometimes we get lost in the day-to-day, and that's where long-term goals become sabotaged. That's where your coach comes in.  Coaching provides accountability, focus and motivation while developing organizational skills.  As your coach, Ron will be an objective observer who can shorten the distance between Points A and B saving both time and money by avoiding mistakes. Career coaching holds you accountable to the person you need to satisfy, YOU.

Who is coaching for?

Top achievers in all fields have coaches, athletes, actors, artists, business executives, anyone wanting to achieve peak performance in their chosen career.  A coach's job is to take his or her expertise and let it help to guide you through the maze of everyday life. One of the greatest athletes in modern history, Michael Jordan needed to consult a coach.  Tiger Woods has a coach.  We all need support and guidance.  As your coach, I will point out your strengths and advise you how to make the most of them.

What can I expect from coaching?

Challenge Yourself. At some point in a career many professionals feel as though they have reached a ceiling they can’t break through.  A coach will raise the bar and help you set a new standard for yourself.

Guide You.  A coach keeps you focused, keeps you on your plan and ensures that you will arrive at the destinations and goals you have set for yourself.

Hold You Accountable. It’s hard to evaluate your own performance. If we feel like we could be doing more, our tendency is to work harder, not smarter. Having a coach circumvents that. As your coach I will be an objective, unbiased observer of your professional performance. Objective feedback is exceptionally critical. As your coach I can look at your skills and tell you what you need to improve upon, what you can do less of and how you can create the perfect mixture to make a quantum leap in performance.

Power Questions

For example, decisions about who to hire, where to allocate funds and other resources, issues of communication, should be weighed against the outcomes you want vis-à-vis your vision.

Some things may seem to be questionable in the short run, but perfect in the long term.

Power Questions you should answer:

Should I be thinking about hiring, firing, or shifting?

Can I turn this situation into an opportunity for myself, for the business, for my division?

What is your exit strategy?

What does “life after lending” look like?

What are you using the mortgage business to accomplish?

Do you have a cohesive, consistent marketing plan, or are you going about this segment of your career haphazardly?

Most professionals have not stopped to ask themselves these important questions. By asking these important questions and working with a coach to address possible shortcomings, you can assist yourself in making a quantum leap in your career.
